HARD CIDER COCKTAILS WITH ANGRY ORCHARD

  • As we roll into the fall season, drinking becomes more of an at home activity amongst close friends and family. But it’s important to compliment the current season with the appropriate drink! Like you wouldn’t wear a sweater in 90 degree weather, right? So a good start to kick off this cool weather vibe is some good ole’ hard cider. And what better brand to utilize than Angry Orchard! The cider makers at Angry Orchard continuously experiment with various apple varieties and have been crafting them for over 20 years. Mixologist Jeremy Oertel has created a couple seasonal hard cider cocktails utilizing Angry Orchard and here they are along with the recipes below!

    HOT & ANGRY
    4 oz Angry Orchard Cinnful Apple
    1 oz Blanco Tequila
    0.5 oz Lime Juice
    0.5 oz Pineapple Juice
    0.75 oz Simple Syrup
    0.5 tsp Cholula Hot Sauce
     
    Method: Shake and strain into a rocks glass with ice. Garnish with a lime wheel and cinnamon stick.

    FALL ORCHARD PUNCH
    4 bottles Angry Orchard Crisp Apple
    8 oz Vodka, Gin or White Rum
    1.5 oz Grand Marnier
    3 oz Lemon Juice
    6 oz Cranberry Syrup**
    3 oz Raspberry Puree (Can also use strawberries)
     
    Method: Add ingredients to a punch bowl except the cider. Stir to combine and then top with Angry Orchard Crisp Apple.
     
    **Cranberry Syrup:
    2 cups Cranberry Juice
    1 cup sugar
     
    Method: Add all ingredients to the pot and simmer over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Allow to cool and keep refrigerated.

    ANGRY SPICED RUM COCKTAIL
    4 oz Angry Orchard Crisp Apple
    1 oz Spiced Rum
    0.5 oz Lime Juice
    0.75 oz Simple Syrup
    1 tsp Allspice Liqueur
     
    Method: Shake and strain into a rocks glass and garnish with an apple slice.

    ORCHARD TODDY
    1 bottle Cinnful Apple
    4.5 oz Scotch or Irish Whiskey
    2.25 oz Lemon Juice
    3 oz Honey Ginger Syrup**
    3 oz Water
     
    Method: Add all ingredients to a Crock Pot and set at low heat. Allow to heat up and then serve and garnish with a lemon wheel studded with cloves. If using a stovetop, add all ingredients to a small saucepan and simmer over low heat. Be careful not to allow the mixture to get to hot because the alcohol will boil off.
     
    **Honey Ginger Syrup:
    2 cups Honey
    1 cup Water
    2 tbs Finely Chopped Peeled Ginger
     
    Method: Peel the ginger and then finely chop. Add all ingredients to a pot and cover. Simmer over medium to low heat for 20 min. Strain, allow to cool and store in the refrigerator
