CONVERSE X TELFAR
Telfar is the brand that’s been on everyone’s lip and has gained so much recognition and visibility, but has also revved up so much traction in the fashion space. The NY-based brand has been known for its genderless/unisex designs since inception back in 2005, which ultimately led designer Telfar Clemens to win the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund in 2017. Continuing the success and further establishing his household name, Telfar has created one of the most sought out (and steadily SOLD OUT) bags since the Birkin Bag which has gained many eyes in the height of a movement earlier this year to support black businesses following the influx of racial and social injustices in the many facets of society. But it was only a matter of time before other brands caught on to Telfar’s influence, and then….during Paris Fashion Week last fall, Telfar debuted his collaboration with a Converse collab, which is now available…but only some of it!
Converse and Telfar have joined forces to create a capsule collection that will fully release in Spring 2021. BUT, there is a Pre-collaboration capsule available now (not entirely sold out, thank god) which are a few selects from the line, so the anticipation is real! With a nostalgic 70’s aesthetic but a modern twist, you’ll notice a reinterpretation of Converses’ basketball heritage in these items. A dope mixed-media track suit, a hoodie and basketball shorts with a matching tank as well as graphic tees featuring Clemens and his friends with old school composition and motifs. Along with the clothing remix, is a re-design of the classic Chuck 70 that features some bold fonts and typography as well as graphics seen throughout the clothing pieces offered in a light color and dark color.
