BAR SPOTLIGHT: THE HONEYWELL
Nestled and tucked away in the upbeat upper west part of Manhattan, The Honeywell is what would be described as a hidden gem (literally). Heading down a few steps to a sub-level space and enter into a nostalgic moment that resembles your parents or grandparents basement. A total 70’s vibe, the dimly lit ambiance houses cherrywood wall panels with chevron printed wallpaper and leather green barstools. Vintage tube tv’s situated near a block glass wall, chocolate leather booths with hints of gold piping throughout and dated lamp fixtures. Like it’s use back in the day, the laid back and chill energy in this setting is what’ll make it your neighborhood go-to, unlike its bustling sister bars Harlem Public + At The Wallace.
Offering more than just a reminiscent interior and recently opened garden area , The Honeywell offers up some great crafty and signature cocktails along with quick bites that pair lovely. Co-owner and mixologist Marcio Ramos has been serving up drinks for years and has utilized his skillset by breathing life into various bars throughout NYC and being a brand ambassador to some of the most respected spirit brands in the world. Here he makes one of The Honeywell’s signature cocktail called Beauty & The Beast (hint the presentation) that contains Russian Standard Vodka, Italicus, Hibiscus Agave, Lemon, Serrano Pepper and Thyme.
